Where is Mama's Hostel Krakow Main Market Square located?

Mama's Hostel Main Market Square is located in the heart of Old Town right off Main Market Square on Bracka Street no 4 on the 3rd floor of historical "Hetmańska" Kamienica Building. Please click here to view the map

What are the check in/out times?

CHECK-IN: There is no check-in time but you will get access to your bed and locker at 13 am. Till then you are welcome to use hostel facilities freely. However, for the comfort of your fellow travelers sleeping, you cannot check in before 7 am for the night ahead.

CHECK-OUT: There is no check-out time but you should empty you bed and the locker by 11 am. After this time you are welcome to use hostel facilities till late (no later than 11 pm) and leave your bags in our free secure storage room (no longer than till 11 pm).

What methods of payment are accepted?

On arrival you can pay in cash in PLN (Polish zloty) or by credit card. If you choose to pay with credit card, there is an extra service charge of 3%. We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards.

Is there a curfew?

No, there is no curfew at Mama's Hostel Main Market Square.

Is there a lockout at Mama's?

No, there is no lock-out at Mama's Hostel Main Market Square.

What is included in the price for a night?

Free continental breakfast, free internet access: 4 computers in the living room and WiFi, laundry, free coffee and tea round-the- clock, free Mama's Events.

Is there a secure storage room in the hostel?

Yes, there is a storage room in the hostel and you can leave you bags there till late free of charge (11 pm).

Are there lockers available in the hostel?

Yes, there are lockers in the rooms and in the hall. One per person and a few spare ones.

Are linen and towels provided?

We provide linen for all rooms free of charge. Towels are only available free of charge in twin and double rooms. If you are staying in dorm room you can rent a towel for the whole time of your stay for a small charge of 5 PLN (approx. 1 Euro) or buy it for 30 PLN ( approx. 6 Euros).

Can I do the laundry in the hostel?

Yes, you can do a laundry in the hostel free of charge. If you do not have a washing powder you can buy it from us for 3 PLN (approx. 60 Euro cents)

What languages do we speak at Mama's Hostel Main Market Square?

English, Polish and gesture language ;).

How do I get to Mama's Hostel Main Market Square from the Main Train Station and the Main Bus Station?

When you come out of the neogothic Main Train Station Building go straight on and cross the street using underground passage. You should come out of the passage to the side of Planty Gardens. Go straight on past neoclassical Słowacki Theare building , cross Szpitalna Street, go down Pijarska Street, then turn left at St. Florian's Gate and go down Flariańska Street to the Main Market Square, cross the Main Market Square and take Bracka Street. Mama's Hostel Main Market Square is on Bracka Steet, building number 4. You need to go to the courtyard and take the first door on your left. Our hostel is on the third floor.

How do I get from Krakow Balice airport to the city centre?

Taxi - costs around 60 pln (15 Euros) taxis leave from just outside the main doors of the airport. Transfer time approx 20 mins. This is the easiest way.

Train - costs 8 pln (approx 2 Euros) travel time is approx 15 mins and the trains leave every 30 mins. Take the clearly marked transfer bus from outside the front of the airport to the train stop which is only a few hundred meters away. Train arrives in Krakow's main station which is about 10 mins walk from the Main Square.

Bus - cost 2.5 pln (approx 0.5 Euros). Bus 208 is best to get to the city centre. It stops next to the Main Train Station (stop called "Dworzec Główny Wschód"). Travel time is approx 40 mins. Ticket can be bought with the driver although you may also have to pay for your bag.

How do I get from Katowice Airport to Krakow?

If you are arriving at Katowice airport via Wizz Air, there is a bus service laid on by the airline that meets each arriving flight. You can either book tickets in advance through Wizz Air, or normally they will allow you to buy a ticket on boarding the bus. The price is approx 50 pln.

How long does it take to get from the airport to Krakow's city centre?

If you fly into Krakow's closest airport, Balice, it will only take 30 mins by taxi, 17 by train, or 40 mins by bus. For Katowice, allow approx 1.5 hours for the wizz air shuttle bus or under an hour by car.

What happens if I accidentally damage the hostel?

Mama's Hostels Krakow will charge for any major damage to the property or the breakage of any significant items during your visit. Charges will be made in a fair manner to put right the damage, or to replace the broken object. Charges will be made to your credit card if you have booked using one.

How do I check in to Mama's Doubles?

You must check in to Mama's Doubles at Mama's Hostel Main Market Square (address: Bracka 4), where you collect key and make the balance payment. Also from there we send you to Mama's Doubles in a free taxi.

How do I cancel my booking and are there any charges associated with cancellations?

What happens if I lose a set of keys?

A fixed amount of 20 PLN (approx 5 Euros) will be charged for every set of keys lost to cover the cost of their replacement. This will be deducted from the key deposit. In the case of Mama's Doubles a fixed amount of 40 PLN (approx. 10 Euros) will be deducted automatically from your credit card.

What happens if I forget about check out time?

If you do not leave your room before 11 at Mama's Hostel Main Market Square or before 10 am at Mama's Doubles your credit card will be charged for the price of next night stay.

Can I smoke in the hostel?

Smoking in the rooms and common area is not allowed, however, we have nice smoking area on our great Mama's balcony.

Can I bring a pet?

No, sorry. Unfortunately, we do not accept animals in the hostel since there may turn out that quite a few travelers are allergic to them.

Where can I park my car?

There are Three parking zones in Cracow :

ZONE1 ) - You're not allowed to park.
ZONE2 ) - You're allowed to park, for money ( parking meters).
ZONE3 ) - You're allowed to park free of charge.
