Time for żurek ;)
Sometimes called the ‘yesterday’s menu soup’, żurek is a dish that has been enjoyed by many generations of Poles.
There are as many recipes for cooking zurek as there are regions of Poland. It is made differently in Krakow (with vegetables) than in Kielce, Podlasie, Namyslow and elsewhere. The one essential, common ingredient is the leaven made of fermented rye flour with a piece of whole-meal bread crust.
International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is marked on March 8th every year. It is a major day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women.
Started as a Socialist political event, the holiday blended in the culture of many countries (primarily Russia and the countries of former Soviet bloc). In some celebrations, the day lost its political flavor, and became simply an occasion for men to express their love to the women around them in a way somewhat similar to Mother’s Day and St Valentine’s Day mixed together. In others, however, the political and human rights theme as designated by the United Nations runs strong, and political and social awareness of the struggles of women worldwide are brought out and examined in a hopeful manner.

Pierogi (Pronunciation: pyeh-RRAW-ghee) were traditionally peasant food, but eventually spread in popularity throughout all social classes, including nobles. They are served at many festivals, playing an important role as a cultural Polish dish.
Today we’re gonna make them at Mama’s - you are all welcome to join us. You can learn how to prepare them and later just enjoy the taste of this famous polish dish and I can guarantee you’ll love it
